Houghton and District Ramblers
organised walks in Durham, Northumbria, Cumbria and Yorkshire.
Walks are held once a fortnight and every second walk is a 'coach walk'. Places on the coach are limited so it is best to ring to book a seat so as not to be disapointed.
Terrain will vary from walk to walk and the length will be upward of 7 miles with a shorter (and often easier) option. The coach leaves from the church in Houghton-Le-Spring at 08:30 hrs. prompt and normally costs £8.00p.
'Car walks' meet at the walk location for 10:15 hrs.
The walk normally starts 10:30 hrs. prompt so try not to be late. Lifts can be arranged if required.
All 'car walks' are circular (unless otherwise stated) while 'coach walks' may be linear or circular.
Many of our members also walk with the
Sunderland Ramblers whose walks are on alternate Sundays.
